Terms & Conditions
Effective 24 July 2026
Modus is Windows desktop software made and sold by Aaron Elias Zachariah, a sole proprietor trading as Modus (“we”, “us”). You can reach us any time at modus@eliascorp.org. By downloading, installing, or purchasing Modus you agree to these terms.
Ordering and payment
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy Modus, your payment, tax receipt, and invoice come from Paddle; Paddle's buyer terms apply to the checkout transaction alongside these terms.
Your license
A Modus personal license is a one-time purchase that grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Modus on any number of computers that you personally own and use. It is a license for one person, not one machine — and not a site or team license.
Your license includes every Modus 1.x update. Licenses are delivered as a signed license key by email and verified inside the app; there is no account and no activation server.
Trial and free tier
Modus includes a full-featured 14-day trial, no payment details required. After the trial, Modus continues to work with a reduced free tier (one workflow, activated manually, no hotkeys). Your captured workflows remain yours and are never deleted by the trial ending.
What you may not do
- Share, sell, or publish your license key, or use one license for multiple people.
- Redistribute or resell Modus itself.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify Modus, except to the extent applicable law permits it despite this limitation.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day refund policy, described in full in our refund policy. Statutory refund and withdrawal rights in your country are not affected.
Warranty and liability
Modus is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties and our total liability arising out of or relating to Modus is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded — including statutory rights you may hold as a consumer in the EU, UK, or elsewhere.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page. Your license itself is perpetual and is not diminished by later changes to these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
